    Butterfly Dreams

    Butterfly DreamsDSC_9255 - Version 3 by onesun1moon, on Flickr

    Zhuangzi asked: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?

    C&C welcome.

    Janis, this is very simple 'Magic'.

    A very unusual take on a butterfly that works for me.

    Thanks, Grahame.

    Since posting, I decided it could use a little straightening. I also burned some of the highlights and added a bit of vignetting to set off the flutterby a little more. Let me know if you think it is an improvement. I fear I may have just added more distractions.

    Now that's one hard question Janis but I'll go out on a limb here and having repeatedly gone between the two everything you have done is a slight improvement other than the straightening in my opinion.

    I look forward to hear other opinions on this one and am very much wondering if the crop police will surface

    Really love this image, the only thing that bothers me a bit is the bright pink flower right behind the butterfly.

    Hey Janis,
    I think your second version works just fine! …though Mother Nature missed the
    class on vertical lines.

    Very nice work…and I love your hat!

    Thank you all very much. Point taken as regards Mother Nature's sense of geometry. The pink is a bit much for me too, Toby; I think I will try to mute it a touch. The hats are getting a bit old; I'm a new self and I think it's past time for a new selfie.

    Ditto and I wouldn't worry too much about the pink flower. Strictly speaking, under other circumstances it might be seen to distract but in a "Butterfly Dream" it somehow seems to fit. Sort of Disneyesk.
