    Sin City

    Hello all,

A while back I came across a great page on YouTube called Phlearn. Some of you here may have heard about it before. They basically share photoshop tutorials, and great tutorials at that, anyone looking to better their skills should have a look at them, they also have a website, phlearn.com.

Well they had this great tutorial on recreating a Sin City movie poster, I thought I should share my edit with you. It was one of the most tricky and extensive edits I have done in a long time, it nearly even caused my MacBook to give up on me.

    C&C is welcome as always!

I just watched one of their videos that deals more with philosophy than photography
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9XbYREfLNM he does tend to ramble a bit.

Regardless, I've long ago given up on my skills as a photographer and moving in your direction.
Keep at it because, I'm liking what you're doing.

    Cool stuff Tobias.

I didn't watch the video yet but I am assuming you (yourself) shot the model and composited? The model is a great shot on its own.

Judging by what little I know about post production I can see why it almost took out your MacBook!

    Something I wonder?

On the frame left building there is a row of windows that extends all the way down to the bottom of the frame. Does that look a little out of place to you considering the PoV angle? Should from about her hand on her hip down not include any windows because that would be at street level?

Now after saying that and since it is an art poster am I looking at it too literally? Because I also see some of the other buildings extending to the bottom as well.

Regardless it is a very cool composite and my hat is off to you.

Thanks all for the comments, much appreciated!

@Terry, yes you are looking at it a little to literally I purposefully extended the buildings to the bottom of the page because it added to the feel I was going for.

Okay thanks Tobias. I do that sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t help!
