    Fairly Sorry Images

This image was shot by a volunteer using her cell phone...

    Fairly Sorry Images

I worked to improve the image slightly but about all that I can say about the final image is that you can recognize that it is a white dog...

The problem is when I post-process the image in Photoshop CS6 and save it as a JPEG on Flickr; it gives a date and richardpcrowe when the cursor is placed over the image! I am vain enough about my photography that I don't want anyone to think that this was my image! I can caption each image as being shot by a volunteer with a cell phone but, I would rather not have my name on the image at all. Is there anyway I can manipulate Flickr so that my name will not appear when the cursor is placed over the image?

I would sure like a Flickr manual so I would not need to ask so many questions on CiC.

Sorry, if I am getting annoying...

How about creating an album and entitling it as "Shots by Volunteers" and then in the comment indicate who did the shot...just a thought. I used to do that when I was still active in my Flickr account. I still have Flickr but I do not access it much anymore..

Thanks for the feedback, Izzie. You must be reading my mind! I was seriously considering albums labeled as "shot by volunteers" but, I wanted all of our rescue dog images in one album...

Probably not, IMHO. In Flickr's HTML or PHP or JavaScript or whatever they use, in the end the page with your stuff on it will end up with image code of the form:

    Code:
    <img src="yourfileURL" alt="some text" title="some other text" />
Flickr likely sticks your name in automatically where it says title="" and that is probably built into their site and not accessible by you.

The alt allows text that appears if the "yourfileURL" is dead and I vaguely recall some browsers used to show that on mouse-over, the title attribute being more recent but I could be wrong . . .

Been a while since I've done any HTML but that's how I recall it and my out-of-date HTML 4 manual agrees.

I guess you can edit name of that image before uploading it, it will show that name. Right click on the image then press properties here you can edit the name of image, the author of the image and so on.

No help with Flikr, but for the image itself I got this in about a minute (true). There are some obvious halos but they are fixable.

If you don't know the site http://www.knowhowtransfer.com/apps-...rast-enhancer/ it is worth a look. I have ALCE from it. There are a number of tutorials for (good ones, but in an Italian accent). My version is not great, but you can see what ALCE does.

The plug-ins are not free, but not too expensive either.

I downloaded the doggie image and examined the tags in ExifTool with "ALL" selected. There was no tag showing "richardpcrowe" listed.

Next I looked at the properties for the image and no author was present.

Logically therefore it would seem that Flickr is applying the mouse-over text and, therefore, changing the image before uploading will not affect that action.

BTW: this is the best I could do...

    Fairly Sorry Images

I am not familiar enough with cell phone photography to give any advice to the volunteer on how she could have improved the original image...
