    Roosevelt Arch

What to do on a wet, soggy morning? Well if you're in Yellowstone you can get always get a few images of the Roosevelt Arch.

Hi Steve I like the texture in the walls and the wet road in #1. If the sky was a bit gray and darker in #1, it would complement the scene nicely.

Thanks Binnur and Kodiak.I'll see what I can do to make the sky more gloomy.

Very nice, Steve. A terrific set of tidbits for a travelog.

It might be helpful to remind everyone that Yellowstone National Park is definitely the first national park of America and many apparently consider it to be the first in the world.

I agree with Binnur, the sky seems a bit bright in the first shot. But the stonework in the arch would have made a good composition on its own - eg that above the plaque in the 3rd shot.

Here is my redo of the arch image. I think it looks more dramatic than the first version.

    Re: Roosevelt Arch

    Much more dramatic!

Now that you've achieved such a nice balance between the sky and the arch, consider lowering your white point so the histogram extends close to or all the way to the right side, depending on the look you want to achieve.

Also try to eliminate the chromatic aberration. The dark sky makes it even more noticeable in the revised version than in the original.

Redo looks very nice Steve I would reduce the saturation of the sky a little bit so that it would look more like a rainy day, the sky is a bit too blue.
