One little piggy - C&C welcome

My friend has a small pet pig that she wanted some pics of... so thought you all might all enjoy (he looks like a prehistoric monster). It was a difficult day as it was threatening to thunder storm. As always - C&C welcomed.

This is a good take simply because, on darker subject, a well diffused
    light is the right condition.

The relatively close range at which I suspect the shot to have been taken
explains, more than ƒ stop alone, the rather shallow DoF: nose, left ear,
and eye are at the same (+/-) distance but the lip is already too soft.

As I see it, the non-athletic walk of the piggy would have yield, at ƒ8, a
more desirable overall sharpness. The great Nikkor glass you have plus
an ISO of 800 would have served your take very well.

This is one sweet and clean little piggy!

Thank you very much Kodiak. That is very helpful advice. I need to learn to be not so apprehensive to kick up the ISO.

He actually had a spa day (bath and oil) before his pictures. :-)

A spa and a bath? This is a first for me as to the info of a pig having a spa and a bath ...the pigs we had when I was young-er at our farm were for the wet market so they have a mud spa when they like...and good clean cubicles enough to walk around and lazed around. Babies of 2 months varieties ended up with a long bamboo from the butt to the mouth for long hours of cooking in charcoal placed on dug dry soil with reddish skin crackles. Yummmm.....

He's a lucky piggy; spoiled and pampered rather than eaten Izzie. I did get a picture of him with an apple in his mouth, and have to admit, that's exactly what I thought of...oh my. Lol

Thanks Binnur. Check out his eye in the first image - he has a human like eye...
