    Peeping Granny

A street photograph from just outside the Tate Modern on the South Bank, London. I had to pre focus and take this one from the hip

PapparazziPhil makes a nuisance of himself again It's a very good shot though - technically and interest-wise.

Very good and what luck that the tree trunks behind them are not as bright as the interesting trunk on the right. Very very lucky.....
    Well done however.

Awesome take and outstanding rendition Phil!
Shooting at say ƒ5.6 to ƒ8, would have blurred the brick wall —which I
presume is not an important element of this take!

Thanks L.Paul. The Silver Birches in the background were shaded by the front ones which made that tree stand out a little more

Great shot, Phil...wan't it recently you said you will no longer be in Dubai...so this is not taken in Dubai? UK? It is funny about the the "hi you!" middle finger but I notice more what she is is reading and her foot ready to give you a kick. ..good story...

    Re: Peeping Granny

    Thanks, Izzie.

I saw this couple sitting there, presumably waiting for the Tate Modern Gallery to open (this is right by the south end of the Millennium Bridge) and I was by an information sign. I thought it would make a good shot so pre focused but wasn't looking while I squeezed off a few clicks - so I didn't see that she was looking at me at the time, even though I knew she was reading the magazine entitled "Where". So the fact that they were both very much together yet doing completely different things and in their own worlds I thought would make the image - then after the clicks, looking at my LCD and seeing that I'd got the eye contact as well I thought I'd got a keeper.

Very nice image, let's hope it's not your "shoot from the hip" technique that got you spotted.

Phil, she made you, big time. what a great picture!!!! She did what i usually do when confronted with the lens end of a camera - give it the grandma look and the old pictorial heave ho.

Also great job technically, as always.

Great capture, eye contact makes it. So is the finger accidental?

Nicely done, Phil. Yeah I think you were busted. The visible trees add context to the location.

    Re: Peeping Granny

Thanks guys - It was one of those days where you think you've got a few keepers and can't wait to get home to start processing - this was the first shot of the day.
