Those guys know how to have fun. Nicely captured, the partial reflection on the team logo in the third is interesting, your reds are very subdued, was that a personal choice? Red can be a very dominating color.

Nice shots! You'll have to turn your back more often now that he is starting to get the gist of studio lighting.

It looks like Olivier had some fun learning experiences and has found a classic solution to the teenage skin problems.

Hey John, thanks for the comment!

Yellow, red, electric colours… it's all light.
If one controls the light, one controls colours.
If there is a personal choice, that will be light control.

When I sneaked in the studio, they were kind of embarrassed being caught
partying in this working place of mine. They were reassured when I started
commenting with visibly much pleasure the photos they playfully made.

    Hi Kodiak,

I was doing some shooting around sunset this weekend and the reds really started to pop like they do when a shot is underexposed. I couldn't find enough reds to capture the effect as much as possible.

Do we get a chance to see that shot?

Kodiak...letting your kids play around without you is probably frustrating... It is good that they chose to spend it the right way playing with your gears and your set. Olivier is really very creative indeed. jealous of you...

In no way frustrating Izzie! They were laughing loudly and I was afraid Olivier
would not have the same consideration and respect for the gear as I do. But
this worry dissipated quickly when I saw the shots.

I know that Olivier is very proud of all the gear at his disposal and I know he
is very careful… but he is 15! Only time passing without incident or accident
will reassure me. My boys are the only kids I know playing joyfully and proudly
with gear totalling well over the six digits mark! Thanks for your comment.

Boys will be boys, or alternatively the mice will play when the cats away 😉
I'm sure Oliver will be a great photographer providing you keep on with your mentoring. Well done Oliver and Carlos 👍

If I was a father (I'm not), I would be overjoyed at the fun these two guys have together and I would be hoping it lasts their lifetime.

"The devil never sleeps!" so they say.
The other day, I asked Olivier to make sure that all props going on the set are
immaculate. He decide to clean the plastic front "glass" of a design table clock
with GAS! Result: the clock is ruined since gas will smudge, blur, or fog plastics!

The shop owner who is our client, was not very happy with that… he simply said:
"Here's another one… and the bill for the first one." — 230,00€!

I never thought this is the right way to do business!

OW!. That is an expensive lesson! Aromatic solvents and resins don't mix; in my view water is usually the "best" place to start when cleaning anything. The only time I will go to solvents is when water does not work. Even soaps can leave a film, that is hard to remove and can show up in a shot.

Right. 1+1 is not always 2. When there was some old gaffer tape glue to be
removed from a metal part, I suggested Olivier to use gas… but that was on
naked metal. In his head, —if it works on metal, it should work on anything!

I explained him that when it comes to chemistry, caution is required… just
    like in anything:
"THE MOST DANGEROUS DANGERS ARE THE DANGERS YOU DON'T SEE!"
Once aware of a dangerous situation, the danger has lost some of its
"dangerousness" … if you're not stupid, that is!

Knowledge is power… so they say. Ignorance is no shame… because it comes
with a great and powerful feature: the capacity to ask questions! "Use it, buddy!"

You are quite right; water is not going to work on tape residue. Often a bit rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) is usually the next cautious step for me, if water does not work. I haven't used gasoline; but acetone, toluene or petroleum solvents, yes; but only with great care and never on resins or fabrics without careful testing first.

Even insect repellent can soften plastics (guess how I figured that one out) ...

This was a designer table clock that is made of high quality materials…
such as special synthetic multi-facetted, non-reflective, and scratch
    resistant "front glass".

Does your insurance cover you ?
Yes, of course! …and the deductible in each case is 250,00 €! My luck :-\
