Not easy, need advice.

I will post an image of the set up used this Thursday ( Friday is a holiday here for me ). It was worth reading everyone's posts and learning from it. I will try suggestions offered as well as post images of the set-up.

What started as trying to make a dull day by photographing this object has sure turned into making me hell bent on getting this as close to right as possible.

p.s: I will be ordering the "Light: Science and Magic".

Now that attitude right there is what I have found to be the most useful arrow in the quiver!

Haseeb, an image of your setup would help here. The issue you describe might be related to the light source you are using and the distance of the source to the subject. Bigger light source is better and closer is better (usually).

No luck, yet. I think some black side boards may help but I look forward to advice from members. Here is the image of the set up and outcome.

Hey Haseeb, this is cool already! …what a progress!

May I suggest you to use a seamless background? A simple piece of paper will do.

So far, the transparency of the glass is better visible and the surface details too!

I have no reason to flatter you… if I say it, you deserve it! Great progress!

Not really! The inverse square law (in this case) is working for you. I would
suggest using only one soft box and try, explore angles (even strange ones)
that you might not have tried yet. Good luck!

One more though the seam has been removed through LR5 with the background kept untouched.

…right but still visible in the bottle! …a simple piece of paper will do better
and take you less time!
