    Student's work

I volunteer for the local Home School Association. For the last day of school I invited the local photo studio owner/photographer in to talk to the kids. He was very well received and several parents stopped in to hear him. My students range from age 9 to ~17.

I also chose one picture from each student to post on the "Wall of Fame." I had them printed at 8x10 and framed them in the inexpensive WalMart plastic frames. I'm pretty proud of what my kids have accomplished during 10 weeks of classes, (one class per week.)

(I had to shoot the board at an angle to reduce reflections from the big windows behind me.)

    I can see some budding talent there; I like (1,1) (2,1) (3,1) and (4,3) row x column.

Student was surprised I chose 4,3. It was part of a multi-shot study of "Fall colors." I told him that technical imperfections sometimes make the difference between a photograph and a PICTURE!

Student 1,1 wants to be a professional photographer. I think she is worth nurturing. I had a really tough choosing just one of hers.

He also had some very good scenics, but that one is the more dramatic one. He was one of the students who had more than one entry in my final list.
