I am imagining he is a serviceman trying to get home?
This may of course be because I have just read 'Lone Survivor' but I'm ok with that.
    Nicely done

I doubt it but that's possible. He was on a ferry going from Norway's mainland to its Lofoten islands. The ferry left at 6:00am and he might not have gotten much sleep the previous night. The ferry trip was four hours, so he had plenty of time to get some sleep.

Hi Mike. At first I thought it was the USA flag so it reminded me of one of Robert Frank's work. It still has the same vibe: B&W, photojournalism. It tells a story which I really like about it. I would have preferred some darkening on the highlights like the area between the two chairs, and one on the window. Despite that, the rawness brings one back to the era of old school photography, which I always go back to for inspiration. Cheers.

When I came upon the scene, I immediately thought of his photo of the old woman draped in an American flag. Unfortunately, I can't find it amid my collection of photography books, so now I'm wondering if the photo I'm remembering is his.

I actually darkened those areas but perhaps not enough. Thanks for mentioning it, as I'll revisit it.
