A couple of pigeon shots from last weekend.
Ruffled feathers (it was quite windy)
Nikon D5000 and Nikkor 18-200mm lens: 1/3000s, f/5.6 at 170mm iso500

They may be considered by some to be little more than flying rats, but I love the irridescent colours.

I'm with you Dave, I like the pigeons. The colours are so nice and they make the most soothing sounds. If only they could be bathroom trained.They may be considered by some to be little more than flying rats, but I love the irridescent colours.
#1 is beautiful, the colours and expression and you've captured the irridescence perfectly. Same with #2 but #1 is my favourite. Very nice!!! and NO Halos
Wish I could do that.

You are talking to someone whose favourite bird is the blackbird. Very good colours, Dave, especially in #1. I feel with #2 he needs a bit more space to the left to 'look into'.
