    Photo Competition for February 2010

    Hi Folks,

The moment you've all been waiting for ...

... so let's get it underway!

    Rules of Engagement:

    1. Image must have been taken this month (February) (or thereabouts) eg if you took a shot towards the end of last month, but didn't have time to enter it in last month's competition, then that's fine (I just want to encourage people to "get out and get shooting", and not to just submit historic work).

    2. Enter as many images as you like, but only 1 per post please

    3. No theme

    4. Please change the title of your post to reflect your image name (it makes it much easier for people to refer to your image that way )

    Hi Idunnvt,

Welcome to CiC - great to have you with us. Unfortunately, there's no image attached to your post - have you created a gallery for yourself here yet? Is is set to "public"?

    Colin,

No I have not created a gallery. Will that correct the issues?

    Hi Larry,

Yes - definately. Create a public gallery for yourself first (just click on "community" above & follow your nose) - then get your images uploaded - and then we can show you how to easily link to them in your posts. The old attachments way is restricted and will eventually bite you (and us) in the bum if you stay with us a while (and we hope that you do).

Hi: I like it. Check my album and see if the chipmunk is a rival.

Thanks Philjam: I think your chipmunk would probably clean house. It seems the smaller these guys are the more agressive they are. I don't have any chipmunks around here, but have Grey, Black, and Red squirrels. The one in this comp. is a very friendly Grey, they are the biggest and tamest and the first to the feeder. Then the Blacks, which are a little smaller come and chase them away, but when the little Reds (not much bigger than your chipmunk) come around they clear everyone out. I'd like to get some shots of them all together to show the difference in size, but it's pretty chaotic when there is more than one kind around, and I am not that fast.

You are getting some good wildlife shots with that 300mm, but I see you still have to crop a bit. Hope to see you start posting a few. We'd love to see them, and if you need help with anything in particular, this is the place to be.

    Tenby lifeboat stations

Shot yesterday with a Tokina 11-16mm lens which caused the buildings to 'lean'. I thought I would accentuate the effect so I leant on them a bit more! Tenby is in West Wales.
