Thread: Boring sunset

    Boring sunset

    Hello *@*,

    I was made aware of this very nice photography tutorial/forum site recently. So here's my little contribution, I hope you like it.

    Boring sunset

    (cropped from 3:2, only some minor enhancements to contrast, gamma and saturation have been applied to the shot, it really was a nice sunset that made me go running for my camera)

    Hi Valynor,

    I hope we live up to your expectations

    Welcome to the CiC forums from me, great to have you join us and getting a picture up first post!

    I see that was shot with a Fuji Finepix F31d - not that we will hold that against you

    If you have any questions, just ask.

    Cheers,

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

    @Dave

    Heh, no disrespecting the mighty Fuji F31fd! It's actually one of the reasonably good compact cameras (see: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Fuji...1fd/page15.asp and http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Fuji...1fd/page14.asp !). In terms of pure image quality this tiny thing can really stand its ground:

    Boring sunset
    ^100% crop, no image enhancements

    But of course you are right, it still is "just a compact camera" with all its limitations. That's why I'm eyeballing the Panasonic Lumix GF1 mit 1:1.7/20mm pancake.
