    Mini Competition #69

    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread in this forums

    Windpower

    Nikon D3000: 1/80s: f9: ISO 100: 170mm
PP= crop and Lightroom sepia preset then adjusted brighness, contrast and clarity in Lightroom; adjusted levels, sharpened, resized and added frame in Elements.

C&C welcome and appreciated as always.

This is the same as the one entered in the Jan. Competition but I figured out why the colours were changing when uploaded (Jan. entry has a horrid yellow cast). I think this one looks better. I had inadvertently asked Lightroom to convert to convert to "ProPhotoRGB" when opening for editing in Elements. Problem solved - for sure this time.

    Unused Steps

Finally a day with some sun so managed to capture a picture of some garden steps that may prove a difficult proposition just now!

    A Night that Never Happened.

I wasn't liking the boring whitish-blue sky in the original pic, so played around with Hues. Now finding this pretty cool.

PS:- There is a kingfisher in the center.

    Re: Mini Competition #69

Well, have been here a few days now and thought I'd have a go at the competition.

Took a holiday at home late last year, had a weekend on the Norfolk coast. This was a shot of Cley windmill I got (no longer working, but converted into a hotel).

    From EXIF, Canon EOS450D, 1/400sec at f14, ISO 200.

    Comments always welcome,

    Rich

    Crescent Moon and Jupiter

My first time entering into a "competition" like this and my first post to the forum. Be kind, please.

A waxing crescent moon having a close encounter with the planet Jupiter, 01/17/2010. Probably not visible in the photo at this resolution, but the original full size image clearly shows 3 of the moons of Jupiter. A very pleasant surprise considering no specialized equipment was used. EOS 50D, Canon 70-300 USM. Minimal PP - saturation in ACR and USM in CS4.

Larger (1581x2371) image at Flickr is here.

    Hey Richard,

I love the picture, I'm a big fan of clouds and to see something like this captivated me right away. Thanks for posting it!

What a super set - right across the board. Thank you to all 10. I hope those who have been working hard since they've been in the forum see and appreciate the huge steps forward they're taking in the quality of their work (Ron!).
