I'm pleased by it...
And so you should be. A beautiful conversion. Very rich tones. Well done.
I bought a print (B & W) from Mark Alexander (http://www.markalexanderphotography.co.uk/), whose specialism is golf courses. The one I bought was taken outside his house (not far from me) and the foreground is a field of barley blowing in the wind. I bought it directly from him and he spoke of having seen the barley likes waves.
Re: wavy grass--B&W attempt
You can do a lot with B+W; try filters and for a quick example your pic with green filter and green hue. Not as good as your PP but very quick. :)

The barley blowing in the wind totally reminded me of the movie Gladiator, with Russel Crowe. I don't know if you're familiar, but that movie had some beautiful moments of cinematography with barley, wheat, or something similar, blowing like waves in the wind. It's a beautiful thing to see in life as well.
@Arith: I will definitely have to check those out! Thanks for the suggestion.
