Small Talk
Prepared this for a Triptych competition at my local club. Apologies for the colloquial language.

Re: Small Talk
Gorgeous. Captures and conveys the personality and character of the dog.

Thanks Sharon, Thanks Donald. Captured on a walk between Kippford and Rockcliffe on the Solway Firth near Dumfries. He lived in an isolated cottage on the shoreline (no road) and clearly enjoyed the company of any walkers that passed by.

Ah...an area I know well.
Last spent a break there in Nov 2011. Frosty mornings led to some great shots of spiders webs at Rockliffe. Must return soon.

Re: Small Talk
Interesting composition (the triptych) and great shots. But the one on the far right is amazing. There is an expression on his (her?) face that is...Mona Lisa-esq. Moreover, she looks almost human. I absolutely love #3.

Re: Small Talk
Lovely dog, lovely photos but to my conservative eyes the outside pictures should be swopped to hold interest within the set rather than conducting us away from it.
Then the centre and right could be talking to each other while the left watched them to work out if the conversation was interesting, he has a wonderful quiz-ing expression

Thank Jack,thanks Bruce, thanks jcuknz.
Sharon, we don't often return to places - too many others to see but a return to Kippford is o the cards next spring. They don't call it the Riviera of Scotland for nothing.
jcuknz, can't agree with you. The story I was trying to tell with the triptych was of some one walking past the dog and ignoring it. Consequently, it starts off looking in one direction and finishes up looking in the other.

Re: Small Talk
Well your story is not told by the photos and I am only considering the compositional angle which as you have it is untidy. If you have three shots they need to relate and fit to each other. What you have is a common cinematic arrangement to show disfunction and disagreement between the characters without dialog.
