    Fall Fun

Our church celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary this weekend. On Saturday, as part of the celebration, the church hosted a picnic for anyone who wanted to attend. Part of the festivities was activities for the kids. Caught a pic of this young fellow in the tunnel that kids could crawl through.
    C&C most welcomed. Bruce

Might look better if ya toned down the highlights a bit.

I know this is not the greatest photo, but I would like more replies on whether it is good, bad or ugly.

    Hi Bruce,

I think it is a wonderful idea for a wonderful image and that you captured the expression on the boys face very nicely. Perhaps a faster shutter speed may have come in handy, assuming the boy is on the move because of the soft focus.

If you have the opportunity again, I would ask for the adorable little tyke to assume a prone position with just his head peeking out of the toy, or position yourself more head on and wait to capture the same moment, somewhere where the lighting on the boy would be better, or reposition the toy to suit your photo.

Christina, thank you for your comments, and suggestions.
As a side note this photo was taken without posing-it was a spur of the moment shot.

As it should be with kids, it's a delightful shot bruce.

    Yes, it is delightful...

Bruce, I just noted your comment on spur of the moment, and I do think these make the best type of images (just like BIF waiting for the perfect moment is better than a contrived pose), I just think it could be extra special if more of the boy were seen, closer up, so it is more about the boy and less about the toy...

This looks a really fun shot, but the colour balance might be a bit too red. Cooling down the colours improves it in my opinion, and brightening up the boy helps to clarify the subject. E.g. -
