    Waiting for the Light

This time last year I posted some shots of Brisbane's annual light show. It is on again and I had another go at it the other night. The show was a bit disappointing to me as it lacked the spectacular laser lights that it had last year. So I had to settle for a couple of "tamer" shots. I was fortunate to have the full moon over the city which I captured in a separate exposure. The first shot was taken before the show started. In the second, I intentionally included the spectators.

C&C welcome. Pls click on images for best viewing.

Wow - that was a year ago, Dave? Time flies!

You seem to have a good vantage point, and the inclusion of the spectators is great for foreground interest

Now, there's another thing that you don't think about until it's made obvious. In the southern hemisphere, the moon goes across the sky in a right-to-left direction (the later shot has the moon more to the left),as opposed to the nothern hemisphere, in which its the other way round.

Anyway ... What distracts me in the first one, Dave are those leaves bottom-left. Otherwise it's a gorgeous cityscape.

The second one is just and out-and-out beauty. Excellent photography.

Thanks for your kind comments Donald and John. Donald I did think about cloning out those leaves but convinced myself it was too hard. But I was probably being lazy. I shall have a go.

Excellent... i really liked how two or three grew into a huge gathering with time as moon traverses across the sky

No. 2 for me as well although both are great images. I love the colour saturation in the second. Good stuff.
