Birds... a few from the last two outings

I captured these are Circle B Bar Nature Reserve in Polk County, Florida. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Black-bellied Whistling Ducks... these ducks are a little weird. They have web feet like ducks but a large claw at the end of each toe and they spend more time in trees than in the water. When they fly they are constantly whistling. And they do not belong in Florida... should be in South America.

    Beautiful!

I adore Black Bellied Whistling Ducks and I wish image #1 were mine! One day, perhaps on my next vacation. I was going to say that #1 is my favourite, and it is but I may be swayed by the subject matter... The egret shot is breathtakingly beautiful!

Eagles in Florida? Nice and sharp, and lovely against the clouds.
    Thanks for sharing..

I love them all but #5 is my favorite. I like how the bird and the tree form a diagonal line across the photo and how his feet look similar to the branches.

I can only dream of some day getting shots like these.

Beautiful photos, Joe. #1 and #5 are my favourites: they both have a nice balance in different ways.

And as usual, all are perfectly executed. Good work.

Like them all...on the last one, have you considered moving the egret closer to the branch?

Hello Christina, thank you for viewing and commenting, very much appreciated. Yes, eagles in Florida maybe more than in BC. At the 1000 acre marsh I go to there are two breeding pairs and their juvenile offspring.

Thanks Ali, your comments are very much appreciated. The diagonal line you mention is what I had in mind with the composition.

Hello Chauncey, thank you for viewing and commenting. I just happen to have one closer to the branch, actually grasping the branch.

Apologies if I've been missing any of your posts, Joe. I've had periods of not been on over the last couple of weeks or so.

They are all, it goes without saying, up to the standard we now expect whenever we see your images. But of this set, #1 really stands out to me for its compositional qualities. I think it's an absolute beauty. It works so well at a number of levels. It's a superb wildlife picture, but it's also got humour (or is that just the way I'm seeing it?).

    Hi Joe,

I see that I am going to have to visit Florida and I might just stay a while, and follow you around, at least in the morning

No apologies needed Donald, I read your post regarding being away from the computer for a while. When I read it I was hoping it would be for an enjoyable holiday. Thank you for taking the time to look and comment, very much appreciated.

Hello Christina, come to Florida if you must but please do not plan to follow me around. At 70 years old the way Dottie and I do things would not accommodate that.
