    Brisbane by the River

    C&C please.

I took this a couple of weeks ago and it has been growing on me. The composition is a little unconventional perhaps. It was a fine clear day with a good sky. This is meant to be part of a bigger project.

This is a nice skyline photo. I wonder how it would look after sunset.

Nice cityscape, Tony: I like the use of the vanishing perspective. The only aspect that bothers me is the shadow falling across the foreground. It cuts the lower roadway in half. Would it make a difference if you shot this at a different time of day?

Christina and Greg, thanks for your comments. Another time of day might be better but it is not obvious to me when. The shot was taken latish in the afternoon facing south east. It was taken from the Kurilpa Bridge, a foot and cycle bridge, which I am trying to photograph properly. The shadows are from the bridge, as are the pieces of structure you see in the top left hand corner. I am hoping to try the same view in the evening.

A couple more photographs by the river are:

A strange thing but I am getting to like it more and more as I look at the picture.

Tony I would guess that is an Aussie elephant. In Africa they refuse to do that trick.

    All very well exposed images.

The "blown" background in the elephant shot proves how effective a "blown" background can be in some shots.

    Well done.
