    Mesmerizing Green Eyes

Yes, a cat photo, but it's not my cat so it counts as wildlife...

While photographing I blurred the background but I didn't notice the wild contrasty/ bars in the background.

I love the cats eyes, so I decided to get creative and crop my cat (even though it draws attention to the out of focus nose) nevertheless I like this cat, and I would appreciate some feedback on the following crops... ie; do they work at all or should I just go find another cat to photograph?

    Thank you.

I wish my cat would pose like that.
    I like 2, and 3.

    Hi Bruce,

It is not my cat... My cat refuses to pose for me..

So that means that my crops work for you?

Christina, I am going to start a club where only people whose cats will not pose for them can join. You, and I can be the first two members.
I like the way you cropped #2, and #3- they work for me.

    Hi Christina,

I like #2 because I want to stroke it under the chin

I like #3 for the cooler WB and bold composition

#4 doesn't work for me so well, I think mainly because the left eye is part-cropped.

    Make sense?

    Hi Dave,

Thank you for your comments and feedback... Appreciated..

I suspected as much about #4... I was trying to crop out the top bit above the nose. Maybe I will try again without clipping the eye.

PS I am going to try Neat Image next.. Your example was great.

PPS Bruce, I bet you will have a waiting list for your cat club, in record time.

    Christina,

I like #2 and #3, but 3 better. I like the color in the iris of the eye and how the light seems to reflect more.

Very nice. Since you consider this wildlife we can interpret the background stripes as part of the camouflage.

Thank you John... I appreciate your sense of humour. Hopefully I will spot this cat again and have a chance for a better background.

Ali, Thank you for your feedback. Indeed this cat had beautiful eyes.

Third image is really cool. Extreme closeup works.
