Dottie and I went to the wetlands at Circle B Bar Reserve yesterday. The dog days of summer are upon Florida, where winter will bring hundreds of birds to the marshes now there are only a few residents to photograph. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.
Red-shouldered Hawk... I could not help but chuckle to myself as I captured these images. In the first image the hawk spotted me and then cocked it's head and puffed out it's chest as captured in the second image.

Anhinga... this bird has a very distinctive flight pattern. Four or five flaps of the wings then glide to be repeated again and again. While not good at flying it is wonderful at fishing with the pointed bill spearing fish.
Little Blue Heron
Limpkin... this bird is found mainly in Florida. It feeds on the large Apple Snails, its population being determined by the prevalence of the snails.
