    Photographic Layout 101

Could someone tell me quickly what a photographic layout is and direct me to a site where I could learn to put one together? From a quick internet search I understand that it is a means to present ones photos but I don't know anything about it, and I wonder if someone could give me a few tips. Nothing complicated just the basics so I know what it is and how to do it.

Thank you in advance. Truly appreciated.

Thank you Victor. I will do that tutorial today... Are all photographic layouts in book format, or is sometimes just how you present your photos, with borders and in composites, etc?

The term, "layout," can be applied to any compilation of visual materials. You can present your photographic layout using whatever medium and style that you choose.

Helpful stuff pertaining to book design concepts (not how to use any particular software):

    Thank you Mike... Truly appreciated...

I need to understand photographic layouts as they would be used to present photos to the clients of a photography studio.

    Thank you.

    Going with the write up

I start in Lightroom, and then I use Apple’s iPhoto software for the actual book layouts.
he does it via "book layouts" using the free software - Apple's iPhoto software
    which has pre-built templates.
