    Herring-gulls & Sea-gulls

I’ll appreciate suggestions about camera settings and especially focus settings when taking pictures of birds in flight.
The camera I use is Nikon D7000 with 55-300VR or 55-200VR.

Some good photographs - not sure you need any pointers on settings although I noticed most of the shots are taken at f5.6 or less even with good lighting. I try and use between f5.6 and f8 if the lighting lets me. Having just got a new camera and yet to try the different focussing modes now available so I won't comment on focus settings but I know it has been discussed on other threads. However I do know when taking photographs of any moving object especially animals and birds the more images you take and have available to select from the better.

Hi Jordan. When I shoot wildlife, I set the camera for speed (shutter) priority at 1/1000 second. If I don't do this, the slightest movement of the animal results in a blurry image. That's my two cents worth. I do not do that much wildlife photography, so you might get some better tips from others.
