Glass vessel -- side view from above

The simplicity of this glass vessel is so attractive for me that I hope the image does it justice.

It's gorgeous and another one of my favourite photos of yours... It looks like it is floating in air, how did you do that? If you et me know and I will get back to work organizing my photos.

    Glad you like it, Christina!

A photo in a magazine, the setup and a description of how the photo was made can be found here. My setup is exactly as described in the magazine except for the following: Rather than bounce bright light off the floor using six strobes, I used one large lamp containing five compact fluorescent bulbs that project light directly through the white acrylic and the clear tabletop. I turned on only one of the bulbs. That setup made it impossible to light the tabletop nearly perfectly evenly as was done by the pro; instead, my lighting produced a vignette by design (no post-processing was needed to create it).

I'm relieved to know that I'm no longer holding you up. Get back to work!

Mike, another stunning photo! I don't think I need to say more (because I don't know what more to say)

    Cheers

Thanks, everyone! As much as I'm surprised that I like the floating look, I'm gonna have to make another image of it that anchors part of it to the frame.

Thanks for sharing Mike... I will save this for a few years from now... Looks mighty complicated.

I finally got around to making an image of the subject anchored to two of the sides.
