Urgent help! NIKON SB700 doesn't flash immediately

    Hi,
I would like to get some advice on an issue I'm having with my speedlight SB700.
I'm using it as oncamera, and it used to be possible to take a photo with flash firing immediately after I press shutter button.
Now it gives a kind of ticking sounds three times before it shoots, and therefore I'm unable to take a photo right at the moment I want to shoot.

Could someone please help me finding out how to fix this issue?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

Make sure it is not set to red eye reduction.

See page 125 of the SB-700 manual for more details about L. Paul's suggestion. If his idea is your solution, it pertains to a camera setting, not a speed light setting.

Paul and Mike, thank you so so much for giving this advice, I just checked the camera, and it was indeed turned on!
Now my flash+shutter fires straight away. Thanks a ton!
