Cool. The lines, colours, shadows etc all play well into this composition.

Was wondering if lightening up the dark mid at the far end might bring out a bit more texture?

Bruce, like your image. I might see if there is a bit more detail to be found in the white walkway.

A striking image Bruce and well seen. It's really a pattern picture and the changes you have made improve it although I prefer the penultimate version to the last attempt. The highlights have been lifted too much in the final version IMHO. I like that.

Great image, Bruce, but I prefer the brick tones in the 1st.

Hi Bruce - I really like the lines and patterns of this image. I wonder what it would look like in monochrome - those bricks are just too perfectly red for me.

Its amazing what a different a desaturated pic makes. Much better in my eyes. All about shapes and shadows now. Nice shot!

Nice shot Bruce - I prefer the coloured version as it really is a fairly simple composition and the repeating patterns of coloured brick works well. While the image also works as a B&W, I find it does not work quite as well.

It wouldn't be good if we all liked the same thing. (Now perhaps some camera club judges should understand that too!)

I might also ask whether the bricks had been painted or tweaked in software as they are rarely as bright as that in reality?

Ian, this image is an entrance to a high school in a town near where I live. I have been back to this spot several times, and the bricks were not as bright as they appear in the photo. They were actually a little dull looking. It is amazing what a little PP can do to the look of bricks.
Thanks to you, and Manfred for your kind comments.

Yes, certainly better with increased clarity in the dark region. There is even some texture in there now. Well done.
