    A World of Their Own

I don't do much street photography as a rule but these two were so wrapped up in each others company it gave me the idea of trying to portray them as being in their own world. I have had several tries to find a format that does this and this is just the latest. I would very much welcome C&Cs on whether it succeeds.

I think the idea is great. It works well and achieves the objective.
A question rather than a statement - To connect them just slightly to the world in which they exist after the starry-eyed romance fades (sorry!), I wondered about extending the selective colorisation (albeit at lower capacity) in the area of the pavement just beside the woman's jumper/jersey top, around their feet and his lower leg? I just had a notion it would 'join up' the whole image.

But maybe you don't agree with that, given the very clear aim of the image.

Hi John. I have watched your progress with this shot with interest and I am so glad you are persisting with it as it merits that kind of attention.
I agree with what Donald has said on this.

The seperation is maybe a mite too stark for me as it stands but I am certain you will get the balance perfect very soon.

That Works. Thank you both. Apart from anything else, it lends more weight to the bottom of the composition.

oh yes...much gentler on the eye without any dilution of the concept or message.

The second one works for me, John. Maybe you could add a little blur to the sign in the top left hand corner so I don't keep trying to read it.

Thanks all for your replies. Sometimes you can work on an image for so long that you begin to lose site of it and it takes a fresh set of eyes to sort it out. Yours might be the final tweak Greg. I will give it a try.

+1 for your idea as well Greg. I hadn't noticed the distraction originally but when it's not there you do notice the improvement. Thanks all for your help. I might try this in a club competition.
