WARNING : Graphic Spider Content
Went outside tonight to shoot a new flower and found this beauty on the way hanging out on the barbecue just waiting to be photographed .
105VR macro fitted with 36mm tube. 2 off SBR-200s fitted to lens front in TTL control, one above and one to the right. F22, 1/320s, ISO 200. In manual mode and manually focused by moving the camera.
Full size, no crop
PP was levels and overall sharpening and interestingly the only blown highlights that show are the catch lights in the eyessss and not the white areas on the hairs so not sure what they are.
Not a spider lover and as I got closer and closer just wished there was a 400mm macro
Comments are welcome of course and I would be interested to know how I should deal with the double catch lights caused by the two flashes.

Re: WARNING : Graphic Spider Content
Thank you Andre.
Having posted the above I was not too happy with the crop so went back to it again for another try using Colin Southerns sharpening procedure, worth spending the time.

Bobo, Otavio and Kelvin,
Thanks for the comments. Yes it was close as the little critter was only about 60mm across, but I'm told they can not hurt you

Re: WARNING : Graphic Spider Content
Grahame, superb macro work. I am just getting ready to get into insect macros. Building a custom flash bracket as we speak...I might "bug" you for some tips sometime soon (I know, that was a bad pun )
Regarding the double catchlight, if I were you I'd just clone out one of each in photoshop.

Re: WARNING : Graphic Spider Content
Thanks Matt,
I have done a version with the larger of the two catch lights cloned out.
Feel free to 'bug' me any time for tips but the best one is to find a bug that wants to be photographed, is patient and prepared to remain still while you take endless shots as you consider the sharpness or lighting is not adequate
