Re: Terning Interesting at the Local Reserve
Fabulous shots, Dan. My favourite is number 5 showcasing that amazing wing span with the backlight flowing through.

Re: Terning Interesting at the Local Reserve
Beautiful, inspiring shots... Beautiful lighting! Please keep posting so I can see the standard for BIF that one needs to achieve!
My favourites are #3 for the light and all the action (including the water droplets) and #6 for it is absolute perfection!

Re: Terning Interesting at the Local Reserve
Thanks for the comments, folks. Word of caution shooting backlit like this. It hurts when your tracking a bird and the lens passes across the sun once in a while

Re: Terning Interesting at the Local Reserve
One of my favourite subjects too. And like you, did backlit just a few days ago. Very nice evening sun too. BUT he was too far off for my 300mm max. They will be close enough one day.
Here for me it is #6.

Hi Dan,
Great series, I tried shooting these a few years back, very difficult to get results this good (and I didn't btw).
Clearly one good Tern - deserves 5 more
Cheers,

Re: Terning Interesting at the Local Reserve
Thanks for all the comments, folks. Glad you enjoyed the photos. Luckily these guys are close by so I've been able to get down and practice with them a few times. Now I know the shots I want to get and how to go about it but have to wait for a weather window
