    Shoot the Moon

While I was out last night with the dogs I glanced up at the sky and said to myself, "Self, it has been a while since you shot the moon. Is tonight the night?" And then I answered myself, "Self, that sounds like a wonderful idea on such a clear night like tonight. What would I do without you?"

Well, here is what "Self" ended up with. I think I have done better...but not bad for handheld(my tripod is somewhere in the basement...I think)

    Cool shots.

You just reminded me that I too have not taken moon pics in ages.

Please tell Self his/her shots look nice to me Jon.

I have spoken many times to my Self. In fact, once I tried to get in touch with the female side of my Self (they say there is one in there somewhere).

    I made contact.

She had an injunction issued against me!

    No more introspection for me!

As seen from the Southern Hemisphere tonight (no I haven't rotated the moon).

What I can't work out in my head (was never any good at science in school) is why there is a different view of the moon's surface between the southern and northern hemisphere. Is there a sort of 'idiot's guide' that would explain it to someone who just never did get what physics was about? I need a simple diagram.

I very often talk to myself. It's the only way I can have an intelligent conversation.

    I do the same thing!

Only, I tend to give up, throw my hands in the air and walk away since the other guy is such an idiot.
