Sand Hill Cranes
Hello Everyone: I had a rough week after losing my hard drive. The shop was able to recover most of my data except for the most recent 10 days of photos that I had taken. Of course, I lost what I considered to be my very best spring bird shots after weeks and weeks of practice Oh well, time to move on and try again. While my computer was in the shop, I spotted these sand hill cranes in the neighbours field. I remember the first time I saw this critter. I thought I was hallucinating. It was as if Big Bird had escaped from Sesame Street. I do not know how they manage to get off the ground. The shots are not as crisp as I would have liked, but it was thrilling, none the less, just to see them fly. C and C always welcome.

I spotted this guy on the walk home sunning himself outside his ground hog hole. I am slowly learning that photography is all about compromise. In order to get his face exposed, the background had to suffer.

Re: Sand Hill Cranes
Congrats on the sandies. Nice shots. The goundhog critter looks like he'd bite your face off.
