    My new hat

Hi all, my parents got me a nice hat while away travelling along the great ocean road in Australia. And once i got home i had an idea for a photo. Now i am happy and not happy with the photo. Im happy that i successfully managed to get the idea i had to a photo exactly, and not happy that i realised the idea wasnt a good one. But im uploading it anyways because of the happy side if it. What do you fine people think of it?

I like the concept and also like the hat. I wear an Akubra Stockman's hat and love it. It is expensive new but, I found one used in primo condition on ebay for less than half of what a new one costs. These hats shield the face from the sun which I need since I frequently develop nasty little skin cancers...

Thank you Richard. I do like the akubra hats but its, like you said, expansive. Especially my size. This one is a jackaroo, Australian made. Which now became my everyday hat. No longer caps!

Beautiful photos and so creative! I love both shots but prefer the colour shot

It seems like a pretty good idea to me, Allen. I prefer the b&w, though the lighting looks a bit subdued to me.

Thank you greg for your input, if it was you shooting this, how would you go about it? Or anyone else?

    Hi Allen,
I don't have a clue about how to shoot this. Studio work/lighting is beyond me. I'm not even sure if you have dressed yourself completely in black - including black balaclava to hide your head and face - or if you have removed your head and body in pp (gee, that sounds a bit macabre).

I just thought the lighting/brightness of the images needed to be boosted eg quick levels adjustment
