John has summed it up. I like the village in the background but it still works well when I look at it cropped so there is just water above the reader. There is a faint halo effect more noticeable along the back. I suppose I noticed it because I am sometimes guilty of doing the same thing if I am in a hurry. Nice photo and worthy of making the slight correction.

Yes I noticed that as soon as I posted. I edit on a large screen and it is not as immediately obvious on that as it is with the smaller image. Out with the brush adjustment tool!!
    Thanks both for your comments.
It is Stockholm, by the way.

Yes that's the way it goes as soon as you post it you see it, wonder whether to leap in and change it or sit back and hope nobody notices but someone always does.

    Works very well, Mike.

What I do like particularly is the lines of the far bank and the of the harbour wall - the shape they create and that by heading towards convergence out of frame on the left, we are given a sense of depth and of continuation; i.e. the scene doesn't stop at the left hand edge. I think the whole thing is very balanced.

Thanks Donald. Interestingly this was shot in portrait orientation to capture the threatening clouds as well, but the balance was wrong. Hence the square crop to bring the main subject more into play.
