A Couple of Panoramas From The Lake

These two stitched panoramas were taken at Lake Moogerah but on two different days with different light conditions. I'd be interested to hear what you think of them. One specific question with the second is "are the trees too dominant ?". I would have preferred that there be less foreground trees but it was difficult to find a suiable vantage point due to constraints with property fences and other things.

These shots are best viewed full size by clicking on them.

Thanks Splashy, I'm still worried about the trees in #2 though

Beautiful panoramas. I wouldn't change anything, and I do like the trees in the foreground.

Thanks Ken, interesting to hear you don't mind the trees. It was mainly the ones towards the left hand side I was concerned about as they tend to spoil the view of the mountains behind. However I suppose with the way it is, the image is about the trees as much as the background.

The trees in the overfull lake add to the story - I like them.

The trees don't distract me, either Dave. As L.Paul said, they add to the story. Although I would be tempted to remove the one near the centre that is leaning over.

Did you use a polariser on these, or is that just our naturally beautiful autumn skies?

Thanks for your comments L.Paul and Greg. I used a polariser on the first (which enhanced the clouds) but not on the second which was shot on a different day with different cloud conditions. The weather is magic here at present ! On the second I did reduce the highlights and adjust the mid-point on the Levels adjustment which added more contrast and softened the light somewhat.

I didn't mind the trees because sometimes it's good to use your imagination to complete the image. Even though the trees do block the view, my mind can fill in the details.
