Very nice series, Joe! I wish I'd have such a tree in my backyard! Nicely done and processed!

A great set of photos. Were these handheld or did the birds pose long enough for a tripod/monopod?

Hello Bruce, thank you for viewing and commenting. These were all hand held. I use a medium zoom telephoto lens, a 70-300mm. All shot with a minimum shutter speed of 1/500 at f8.

Terrific images, really. Composition, light, and detail great. Attitude of these seems Audubon-like to me. The background in #3 (summer tanager female) intriguing. Any hints? Anyway, these set a standard for my explorations... something to aim for. Thank you.

As good as the other set is, I like this one even better. Very well done!

Hello Mark, thank you for viewing and commenting. Regarding the third image, the skies had turned cloudy and the tree was in shade. To achieve the exposure I wanted on the bird in working up the image I had to let the clouds/background overexpose, thus the white color and background.
