    Wild Hogs

When Desoto and other Spanish explorers came to Florida in the 1500's they brought pigs with them. Many of the wild hogs in Florida are descendants of those pigs. I captured these at the end of March at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. I was about 30-40 feet away separated by a canal. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Joe, I am thinking the ditch was a good thing...hogs can't fly. They can get pretty nasty though.

Hello Paul, thank you for viewing and commenting. They can be pretty nasty and short tempered, the boar watched me all the time. I was careful not to cross that line when one becomes too close.

I adore everything about the first photo... The light, the clarity, the colour and composition and because he is looking right at us.. He looks friendly!
