Re: The first few from Venice in Colour
Very nice. Hope you had a chance to see the glass blowing and Verona, Merona.

Nice set of shots Phil, you've certainly captured the "feel" of the place. There's so much to photograph there ! I particularly like #1, #10, #11 and #12.

Re: The first few from Venice in Colour
Thanks guys - I'll post the B&W versions soon - I prefer them over the colour shots as it was so drab and overcast...

Re: The first few from Venice in Colour
I like them all but, number 9 seems to be my favorite. It shows the every-day working world Venice. I expect that our hotel will have a window overlooking acanal (at least that is what I was promised). This is the type of shot I was hoping to get.
The computer in my mind is already overflowing with shot ideas. I will of course try the capture the standard postcard images but, I also want to come home with some unsual views.
I am going on a cruise to Greece (which has always been a dream if my wife and will spend a few days in Istanbul which has always been high on my list of "want-to" photograph places.

Re: The first few from Venice in Colour
Enjoy, Richard.
I didn't get the chance this visit as it was a day trip, but make sure you get up early and you'll see no-one but locals and workers, plus great light - St Mark's Square was all mine in 2008 in the early morning - truly eerie! Then over Rialto to the fish market for opening time, back for breakfast and caffe latte in bed for the other half!!!!
