Another great shot Walad, I have been enjoying these even if I haven't commented.

Are you shooting these to illustrate a book or website?

I ask because they are good enough for that purpose.

    Cheers,

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for viewing and your feedback. With regard to your queries, my answer is NO. I was just did it as a hobby only. I wish I can create a blog or book all my photos collection. Any suggestion or tips for best possible way I can do that?

Not really, my own poor example is my Birds gallery on PBase, where I started making specific albums for each breed, named 'common name' - 'latin name'.

I didn't get very far before the enormity of the task put me off - no staying power see, that's my problem
I now have tens of thousands of bird photos, a few hundred of which are good enough to provide additional images within those albums already created and make some new ones, but since there's no incentive to finish (not that I ever could), there always seems to be something more useful to do, not least of which is helping out here at CiC.

But don't let my lack of success put you off.

I also have some P base wildlife galleries, Walad. There are general photos there as well as wildlife.

    http://pbase.com/crustacean

It can take a little bit of time, as Dave mentioned, but eventually worth the effort. And, of course, there are a number of similar photo sharing sites worth considering.

This winter, I tried a new project telling the story of 4 sites where I take most of my wildlife photos. Originally produced as a DVD slideshow, but my commentary wasn't very good so I then produced a PDF version. A mix of images plus an explanatory text.

    http://www.mediafire.com/?nbz76wdlkr2nj

Some members of local wildlife associations have shown an interest and the local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (a government funded environmental organisation) has put them on their web site as a download to accompany popular local walking areas.

Something extra for walkers to notice on these paths.

Not sure now which version of PDF this is, I did a high quality printable version and a reduced quick load internet option. So this might take some time to view or download for printing.

My conditions are that the material can only be used for educational purposes.

Maybe some things for you to consider.

    Walad,

My brother in law found a system that works for him without getting too involved in the web… he makes a book at the end of the year with images from the past year. He simply has them made with one of the DIY book making websites available online like Blurb. Looks like a coffee table book, thin enough that he can put it on the bookshelf and add to the collection.

The drawback is that it will not have as many viewers as a web based site like a blog that is connected to a group of likeminded butterfly enthusiasts.

Walad, I think your photos are so perfect and beautiful that you should create a web site to show them off and share with the world, and use the blog to promote your website. It's not that hard or expensive these days to create a simple web site with a preset program. ie... Go Daddy or similar

Webstart is super easy to use and lets you make your own template and customize templates easily and its inexpensive. Go with the top program if you can, as the free program is very limited.

    http://www.webstarts.com/

As is Go Daddy (they also have templates but not as easy to customize unless you know html)
