    Scarlet Ibis

Hi fellows. Here are some pictures of the scarlet Ibis. It is so red that I had to lower the saturation a bit, to avoid "red stains" on this beautiful bird! C&C welcomed. Thanks for viewing!

Beautiful bird, Otavio. Well captured. #3 being my top pick for angle, comp, exposure and background.

Very nice. Those cast shadows in the 1st and 4th image handled very well. Was that the saturation that was giving you hesitation?

    Hi Otavio:
Number three gets my vote for best also. All of them are very good though. You're lucky to have access to such beautiful/colorful birds. We have glossy ibis and white ibis but not the scarlet. Nice job!

Beautiful shots Otavio. Love them all! I can only find this fella here in the birds park only . However, I would prefer not to crop too tight to the frame. Make sure no pong-pong fruits there...Hehe. How are you doing man!

Thanks, John. Yes, as they are very intense in red, the original saturation level was lowered. Cheers.

I'm fine, thanks! Healthy, happy, working hard, not eating pong-pong fruits and, well, shooting some birds!

    Cheers...

Nice images Otavio, an Ibis I have not seen... very colorful. When shooting a very red bird if your camera allows you to check the red color channel for clipping use that function to get the exposure correct so the red does not blow out.

    Very nice pictures.
The photo #3 is my favorite, but the others are very good.

Thank you very much, Joe. I had to do it using PP, but I will consider using your method next time, as it is always better to depend as least as possible on PP.

Surely a very good tip. It saves time when doing PP and avoids the risk of having a "red blast" that you could not deal with properly!
