I do understand that you have your routines. For me - without routines - the much simpler way is to ask a program do the work for me. I guess ACDSee is the best program, as you (and I) wish an uneven frame for the copyright sign.

http://www.picnik.com (free to use online) also does the trick very easily. But not as precise as made with ACDSee.
