    millipedes, it's spring time

While walking towards Niah caves, I came across many millipedes. This is the first time seeing them mating. I could not figure out how the mating process was taking place as they were in tight embrace till what I "saw" in the 3rd pix. The male's reproductive organ is at the 7th segment of it's body.

    1. I guess this is part of fore-play

    2. tight embrace ... till the eyes pop

    3. male's reproductive organ at the 7th segment ... estacy, the eyes change colour

    4. groupie ... original pix was vertical, rotated to avoid possible neck injuries

Steve, very well executed images (a pitty they are not bigger ). These ones are images that make people (me, at least!) think about many things just after watching them...

A set of unusual and nice pictures, IMO. Thanks for sharing!

Otavio, thanks for the compliments, just wondering ... what were your thinking? The reason I am asking is because this is the first time someone is telling me my images have caused them to think.

No problem, Steven. That is the magic of Photography. As per my signature phrase:Photography is the poetry of the eyes! My thoughts were about Nature, wildlife, God (as a primary cause of everything) and, although some people see themselves above everything, we are just a small fraction of this animal world. We make sex to procreate, just like the Millipedes! I know this could sound sensationalist, but you asked, and I honestly answered!

    Again, nice images!
