Hi Alfred and welcome to CiC.
Great capture, but would prefer to see it larger. Not sure what upload procedure you have used but I find the 'Tinypics' one easiest as described under the 'FAQ' section. You can load up to 1599 pixel width preferably downsizing to this size and sharpening before upload for best results.
Thanks Stagecoach Did not know you could post that size, will edit and paste larger image !
Hi Alfred,
Welcome to CiC. That's a great photo - you might be new to CiC but you're not to photography!
Where in the UK did you photograph the Puffin?
Tony
Hi Tony It was in the Farne Islands ! Had a great trip, did well at Skomer (Wales) and even landed at Bass Rock
I hadn't heard of them before. They look like a bird photographer's paradise.
Tony
Very nice Alfred - Puffins are so cute and clumsy looking - you captured that completely!
Hi Alfred. Excellent shot; a great first post! I don't know if you are open to comment and critique (C&C), but personally if it were my image I would clone out the distracting background elements near the bottom (probably other birds?). I'd just clone over that with some more green to match the rest of the nice background.
Depending on what resolution and how much of the frame is filled in the original shot, I think it would also be nice to try a tight crop focusing more on the birds head and his impressive catch.
Thanks for sharing!
Well done alfred, look foreward to seeing more in the feature.
Thanks flying Squirrel Always appreciate comments and suggestions, agree with you on the bg birds. The image is close to a full frame, do have some in flight close to head shots with fish. Though to get them with all the fish sharp since there is little light and even at 1600 ISO you need to shoot wide open.
Thanks for suggestions !!
Alfred, now that's more impressive at the larger size. Perfect focus on its head and lunch.
Grahame
amazing birds and very photogenic; great capture Alfred!
