Very nice Graham - gotta love Sydney beaches - what time were they taken?

I agree, almost as good as Qld beaches.

    They are great shots.

    Thanks Dave & Harry,

The first one is a bit of a cheat. It was taken at 1:00 pm back in September. I went for a walk along the beach with my daughter who had just returned from 3 months in South America. The others were from 7:00 to 8:00 AM in October, about an hour after sunrise.

I don't know about Qld beaches I hear that a Croc was found swimming around on the Sunshine Coast recently. I have very fond memories of surfing the three points lining up at Noosa and Tea Tree Bay and Burleigh Head, though I have some very deep slices in my wet suit from being dragged over the rocks.

Looks like a good way to spend a morning. Nice images, Graham. The first could use a slight rotation to the right.

    Thanks Paul,

I have struggled with the verticals and horizontals at this location. I think it is an optical illusion due to the heavily sloping sand dune and the curve of the bay which serves as the horizon line. In the end I think I used a building in the centre of the frame as a vertical, or maybe I used the horizon line of the bay. I did this PP in Lightroom and I can't get it any closer. When i open it up in PS I will have another go and see if I can get a more satisfactory alignment.

You know I just had another look at it and I think it needs a slight rotation to the left! Hmm there is a message there but I am not sure what it is.

I think you were right about the optical illusion. I have had a few more looks and I don't think I could move it either way and not end up making something else look off.
