FebFest my neighborhood - next installment

This weeks FebFest installment. In all honesty this is a little outside the 1.5 mi radius of "my neighborhood" but I came across this wonderful heron during last Sunday morning's walk on the greenway. Taken with Canon Powershot SX50. Both images were pp sharpened, contrast, saturated and cropped. I may have over sharpened image 2. Shooting info f5.6, iso 400, 1/1000s, focal length 128.8, handheld. Comments welcome.

    Hi David,

These are nice photos. You really captured some excellent light on the heron and the reflections are special too.

How nice to have such a handsome bird in your 'hood!

David, nice images. I like to shoot an occasional Heron myself. I think the bird in these are slightly over exposed, either in camera or PP. They may be recoverable with a little more work in PP. I also think some cropping could help. In the first I would bring the top down to somewhere in the main diagonal log. In the second I would take some of the top and the left side.

Thanks for the comments. The bird was overexposed in my photo so helpful knowing its not quite right yet. When I looked at different ways to crop was trying to avoid getting the bird to centered in the photo. I'll play with it more.
