    Iced in

Woke up to freezing rain. Decided I couldnt safely make it to work. So I put on some coffee and put seed out for the birds. I grabbed my camera and hid behind the riding mower.I came up with these.

I like the second one better, and can not really tell you why. Great pictures.

Hey, now there are three, so it's the third now that I like best there were only two when I first looked

Excellent pics. You made me laugh- I've seen some pretty elaborate photographic blinds that accomplished no more excellence than you "hiding behind the riding mower". Well done, James

A good series and some colorful wintertime birds, James. #1 and 2 seem slightly soft but #3 is nicely sharp.

#3 is fantastic - I especially like his perch in that one.

Very nice job , james. The light in the 3rd is beautiful.

A little cyan in the second image to fix the red cast.

I agree with others, #3 is very strong. 1 and 2 do like a bit blurry unfortunately, though are still nice captures.

    Re: Iced in

Thanks everybody, I felt like 3 was a special shot when i saw it in viewfinder, sorry about the other 2 I was shooting some slow speeds so success to failure rate is kinda poor.

You did a great job of pulling out the colors. #3 is my favorite.

Beautiful birds, nice images. As Paul noted #2 is a touch soft. Good composition on all three, great backgrounds.

    Gorgeous indeed!

You could probably enhance them a bit with selective sharpening, especially the second but they are really really nice.
