Shot these today at Cabrillo Beach south of Los Angles, I have never seen this type before.

Roger I only know 4 species of birds - Tree sit bird, sand sit bird, water sit bird and rock sit bird. IMHO this must be the rock sit tipe.
Looks pretty much like some Gull species, is there anything like an Orange Billed/Crested Gull?
