| New Forum for Competitions
I've been reviewing all of the mini competitions and it dawned on me that it would be great to have a new forum created soley for competition threads. There are (at this point in time) 18 mini competitions, thats 180 images. Add in the history of the monthly competition threads and you have a nice collection. Moving all of them into a new forum would make it much easier to find all of them. I see a few benifits in doing this: 1. Easier to browse through the historym see improvements, and is almost a "CiC community albumn" 2. On the main forum index it will prevent the latest post from showing the competition threads most often, thus easier to check for recent updates to other threads. 3. Eliminates the huge stack of stickies at the top of the forum 4. The competitions are not themed, and really don't "fit" in either of the two commentary forums. Anyways... Just an idea |

I also think this would be good. As a new and curious (read also nosey),member to CiC it would be easier to find lots of images all in one place.

Good point Dave, but it only seems to display recently ammended albums and I can't seem to find how to get to the rest of them. It's probably just me though.....my wife calls it "having a BOY look":-)

Excellent idea. I think it would also be great to have the winning images posted somewhere separate. Perhaps another thread, or a gallery?

CiC Photo Challenge HALL of FAME. But now we have galleries, that's an idea to follow up.

Most of you here have probably already seen this, but there's now a separate forum category for challenges & competitions. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Hope this makes the historical entries easier to browse and appreciate...

I am a new member, so I don't know if I am doing the right thing by posting a suggestion, so soon. I feel that the competitions should be anonymous to avoid any kind of (probable) biased voting. I mean no offence here. Sorry if not liked. |

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, it's not possible at this time as the site software doesn't have any easy way of doing this. Also, the whole idea of the competitions is to stimulate involvement in the community and to act as an encouragement for people to "get shooting", and as such we encourage people to not take them too seriously. As I like to joke: "winning a competition here plus $5 gets you a ride on a bus" (as does $5 without winning a competition here, which kinda puts them in perspective) (well for me anyway).
