    Twigs

During the bird excursions I will usually stop looking for birds, walk around for 15-20 minutes and look for/investigate other things of interest - bugs, plants, flowers, etc.

Helps to reboot the mind and re-calibrate before turning back to the birds for a while. In summers this cycle can go on on for 4-5 hours at a stretch.

This time the winter shrubbery looked interesting.

    Comments/suggestions/barbs welcomed and appreciated.

    Thanks for looking.

Sometimes despite being landscape challenged I will try to get some shots of the location.

Bobo I think 4 and 5 are good landscapes. I love the simple subject and muted colors of 3.

I like the 3rd and 5th, Bobo. The way the lower twig points into the pinkish colour and the other one into the green; and those colours seem to be replicated somewhat in the colours of twig too. Good composition imho.

I like the B&W landscape but the 5th looks particularly chilly to me: ie captured the winter feeling. I may be biassed, though, it is 43 C here atm.

I particularly like simple images, so it's no surprise that #3 works especially well for me. However, it's not just that it's simple; I really like that the background colors on the left side are the same as some of the subject's colors.

#3 for me, Bobo. I do like the colors in the bottom of #2. I would like to see a use of those colors as background in another image akin to #3.

    Thanks James, Greg, Mike, Paul.

Will Paul's suggestion a try next time I see something similar.
