    Landscape - newbie seeking advice

Well, I am a newbie, as you can tell Guess the best way for me to start is to upload a couple of my pictures for comments and criticism. I am here to learn from the experts. Thank you in advance.

    Hi "Roamingbuff",

Welcome to CiC - great to have you with us Do you have a first name that we can use?

Great shots - best suggestion that I can make is "Click on Community on the menu at the top, and create yourself a gallery" If you pop the images in there then you'll be able to insert them inline here (we'll help - dead easy) - if you leave tham as attachments then your going to quickly run out of space (and if you delete old ones to make room for new ones then they disappear from the threads which spoils everything).

I think they're pretty darn good pictures. Good job, not much to critique!

    Colin,

Thanks for your welcome and your encourage comments about the pictures! I would prefer to use "roamingbuff", as I find it kinda cool.

As to the galleries, are you referring to creating an album? That sounds like a great idea. I'll do as you suggested.

Thanks again! Good to be surrounded by the experts. I have been following your "30 Second Makeovers". They are amazing!

Yeah, it would be cool, what with no clo... nope, mustn't go there

Seriously, welcome to the CiC forums from me too

This is a decent place to learn (when I'm not making smutty comments - and I should know better ).

I also liked your initial four pics, it looked like a series from (roughly) the same place for the differemnt seasons? Is that where you live?

Look forward to seeing the album in due course.

    Catch you later,

Thanks Dave! yes, they are from roughly the same area - two from the exactly same location but for different seasons. The snow scene was taken a couple of years ago with a much older/worse camera. That series triggered my interest in photography.

Hi roamingbuff, welcome to the forums!

I think you've got great eyes! Especially the fourth one in the snow is book worthy

I like all of them and definately nothing I could add to improve them. Have to admit my fav is definately the snow scene (no.4), unsure why, pehaps it's the colours are very complimentary and it looks pleasing. Not that the others don't but due to the snow the whole image falls in a blue/white palette pretty much and works for me at least.

Thank you all. I personally like the 4th one too. I have to say it is the right time and right place, except for the right camera (Canon PowerShot S1 IS). It was two or three years ago. That place has since become my favorite place. I have to say it was the scenery not the guy behind the camera ;-)
